During her long life Claire touched many lives, from her early life in Guyana through her work in the UK as a nurse, midwife and health visitor, Marriage Guidance and her deep involvement  in  her local church in Pannal.

Despite her pain and physical problems caused by osteoarthritis Claire never stopped fighting to live life to the full. Friends have described her as always cheerful, caring and determined to join in. Despite everything she never lost her mischievous sense of humour.

She was deeply loved  both by her family and by her friends in every corner of the world. She will be sadly missed.
